If there is one thing Canadians are known for, it is being nice and very apologetic. So, is there a law in Canada about saying sorry? The answer is yes, most people would be surprised to know that. Most provinces and territories in Canada have adopted some sort of “apology legislation”. In Ontario it is known as The Apology Act.

Canada is the second largest country in the world in area, after Russia.

Canada has 20% of the world’s freshwater resources, and has so many power dams along its mighty rivers and lakes, that when Canadians talk about electricity, they often just call it ‘hydro’.

Canada has more lake area than any other country in the world, 563 lakes larger than 100 square kilometres.

Canada has the longest coastline in the world, measuring 243,042km (this includes the mainland coast and the coasts of offshore islands).

Canada’s national parks are bigger than most countries. Some examples are the Nahanni National Park Reserve in the Northwest Territories and Wood Buffalo National park in Alberta.

Niagara Falls, a major power provider capable of producing over 4 million kilowatts of electricity, is shared with the United States and Canada.
